This coffee table was designed by Pieter De Bruyne. The table dates from 1965, and has been produced in a very limited edition, only four were made. De Bruyne was an inventive designer, and seen as a pioneer of the postmodern movement. His aesthetic is thoughtful, inventive, perfectionist, and avant-garde. Italian design and old ancient culture have always been an inspiration for his work. This table dates from his early work and shows a nice diversity of materials. The open spaces and the glass lightens up the design and creates a timeless feel. The cross-shaped feet are mirrored again in the table top, a touch De Bruyne often uses in his work. The table was found in an interior of a former worker of De Bruyne´s atelier.
